CALLING ALL BIRDERS!

Beginners welcome!

You are invited to participate in the 2023-24 Arizona Christmas Bird Counts. Your observations add valuable data that helps us monitor the health of Arizona’s avian population.

The National Audubon Society has conducted Christmas bird counts since 1900. Volunteers throughout the Western Hemisphere go afield between December 14 and January 5 to record every individual bird encountered within a designated 15-mile diameter circle on that day. These records comprise an extensive database of winter bird populations and overall health of the environment. Participants are typically assigned to teams based on bird identification skills and endurance.
